The State Administration Department Student Association of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universitas Negeri Padang, held a debate training and student scientific writing activity on Tuesday (5/21/2024) at the Faculty of Social Sciences Hall. This activity aims to be a forum for channeling creativity and increasing the critical thinking of students, especially students of State Administration Science at the State University of Padang, as well as increasing the participation of State Administration Science students in student activities, strengthening friendship between students, and developing the organizational skills of State Administration Science students at the State University of Padang. The activity with the theme “Forming Young Administrators by Building Argumentation in Debate Skills in Scientific Writing” was opened directly by the Deputy Dean 1 of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Padang State University, Mr. Dr. Hasrul, M.Si. This activity was also attended by the Head of the State Administration Department, Mrs. Dra. Fitri Eriyanti, M.P.D.., Ph.D., and the Supervisor of the State Administration Department Student Association, Mrs. Yuliarti, S.E., M.E., and was attended by 47 participants, 12 guests, and the organizing committee, totaling 29 people.
In this activity, the material presentation was delivered by Mr. Dr. Nofrion, M.Pd as the first speaker, and the second speaker was delivered by Nadia Eka Putri Indriani, S.Pd. who conducted questions and answers from the participants to the speakers on the material presented. Then followed the giving of a certificate to speaker 1 by the Head of the State Administration Department, Mrs. Dra. Fitri Eriyanti, M.Pd., Ph.D. The debate training and student scientific writing activities can foster a critical attitude in the younger generation, increase the interest and talent of student analysis, and serve as a forum for channeling the creativity of students of the State Administration Department, Faculty of Social Sciences, Padang State University.
